COLUMBUS, Ind. - UPDATE 9:20: Washington St is now open. 7th Street between Washington and Franklin will remain closed so workers can repair the break.
Original story: The Columbus Police Department (CPD) reported on Friday, January 30, at around 4:45 a.m., that Columbus City Utilities was working to repair a water main break near 7th and Washington Streets.
Until it is fixed and the roads can be cleared, Washington Street from 6th to 8th Streets, as well as 8th Street from Jackson to Franklin Streets, will be closed.
CPD advises motorists to be aware and to drive with caution in the downtown area.
