Patti Vasquez returns tonight with some great entertainment! Funny happens. And it always happens when comedian Patti Vasquez is around. You don’t have to take our word for it either. Lewis Black says, “Patti is simply marvelous.” Bill Maher called her, “The funniest woman in comedy since Carol Burnett.”

But Patti loves being a mom to her beautiful little boys. Griffin, who loves trains, Batman and talking as much as his mom, is the best big brother to Declan, who loves music, water and hugs. Declan also happens to have special needs, a part of Patti’s life that she isn’t afraid to talk about.

Patti Vasquez is a Lipstick Mom. She believes that being a wife and mother doesn’t prevent you from feeling attractive. It says something when you can still feel good even if you’ve spent the day doing laundry and washing sippy cups.

Biggest Block Party Ever

Produced by Columbus Area Arts Council and sponsored by Johnson-Witkemper Insurance, Biggest Block Party Ever is an annual fundraiser for the Arts Council. Held on the last Saturday of July, the block party includes three music stages and 12 bands performing throughout the evening. The entertainment line-up includes local and regional acts playing a range of musical styles from rock and country to blues and soul.

Headlining this year’s event is Hunter Smith Band. When Super Bowl Champion punter Hunter Smith decided to retire from football after 12 years in the NFL he did so with a plan in mind. The first step was to strategically put together an eclectic group of musicians then couple them with an eclectic catalogue of self written biographical songs. Next came the challenge of melding a singer-songwriter approach with a very serious and unique country rock sound. He pulled it off. It is called the Hunter Smith Band.

This year’s lineup:

Dunlap Stage (The Commons)
5:30–6:30 PM monetary winner of Battle of the Bands
6:15–7:15 PM Bigalow P (Motown, R&B)
7:30–8:30 PM Hudson Hornet (Rockabilly)
8:45–10:00 PM Justin Slager Band (original and Classic Rock covers)

Johnson-Witkemper Stage (Acoustic)
6:00–6:45 PM The McGuires (Rock duo)
7:00–7:45 PM Anna Miller

Bud Light Stage (PNC Lot)
6:00–7:00 PM TOG Band (Rock covers)
7:15–8:15 PM No Soup 4 U (Rock covers)
8:30–9:30 PM Shiny Penny (Indie Rock)
10:00–11:30 PM Hunter Smith Band (Country Rock)

Start: August 24, 2013 5:30 pm
End: August 25, 2013 12:00 am
Venue: Downtown Columbus

ArtFest

Print

This will be our fourth year on Washington Street. It promises to be the best. With construction complete we hope to expand the art fair from 80 to 120 booths which will incorporate the addition of 4th Street between Lafayette and Jackson Streets. It promises to be one of the finest art fairs in Columbus. This year’s fair will feature artwork from local, regional and national artists.

It will be held August 24th on Washington Street in beautiful downtown Columbus, Indiana. This fine art fair is organized to provide shoppers in Columbus and South Central Indiana with an opportunity to shop a local art fair.
