COLUMBUS, Ind. - Thrive Alliance has announced the appointment of Amber Scherer as Executive Director of its Area Agency on Aging/AAA.
Thrive Alliance houses two 501(c)(3) organizations: Housing Partnerships Inc. (HPI) and the Area Agency on Aging (AAA), serving Bartholomew, Brown, Decatur, Jackson, and Jennings counties.
In this role, Scherer will provide leadership for Aging Services/AAA and serve as the primary public-facing representative. She will work alongside HPI Executive Director Kevin Johnson.
“I am truly honored to step into this role at such a pivotal time for Thrive Alliance,” said Scherer. “While some of our programs are changing, our commitment to this community remains steadfast. We are looking ahead with a clear focus on our mission and deep gratitude for the partners who stand with us as we serve those who need us most.”
Scherer brings over 17 years of experience in aging and disability services, along with a strong background in leadership, program development, and nonprofit operations.
SEYMOUR, Ind. - A two-vehicle collision involving a wrong-way driver claimed three lives on I-65 near Seymour early Sunday morning, August 23. Shortly after 2:30 a.m., a caller reported a head-on crash on southbound I-65 in Jackson County, about one mile south of Seymour.

FRANKLIN, Ind. - Phase 1 of the Graham Road project in Franklin begins on or after Monday, August 24. The contractor says Graham Road will be fully reconstructed from Earlywood Drive to Paul Hand Boulevard, and the bridge over Canary Creek will be replaced.
