Next JCCF 'Elevate Impact' is June 24

FRANKLIN, Ind. - The Johnson County Community Foundation (JCCF) invites nonprofit professionals, grant writers, and community organizations to the next program in its Elevate Impact capacity building training series, “Grant-Ready Budgets: Telling Your Financial Story” on Wednesday, June 24, at Compass Park in Franklin.

The free session begins with networking and breakfast from 8:30 to 9:00 a.m., followed by the program from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at Compass Park. Breakfast is provided.

Grant budgets play a critical role in how funders assess an organization’s credibility, capacity, and readiness. This program is designed to help nonprofits better understand how funders interpret grant budgets during the review process.

Participants will explore common budget structures, identify frequent red flags, and examine the connection between program design, outcomes, and financials. The JCCF session emphasizes clarity, transparency, and intentional communication to help organizations strengthen their grant readiness.

Learning objectives include:

• Identifying the key elements that make a budget appear grant-ready and credible
• Distinguishing between direct and indirect costs and understanding why both matter
• Recognizing common budget red flags that may raise questions for funders

Morgan Carpenter, a nonprofit consultant, grant writer, and Grant Professionals Association-approved trainer, will facilitate this session. She is the author of “Prepare for Impact: Everything You Need to Know to Win Grants and Super-Charge Your Nonprofit” and works with nonprofits across the human services sector.
