COLUMBUS, Ind. - Krea Hill of Rockcreek Elementary School has been honored with the 2026 Edna V. Folger Outstanding Teacher Award. She was honored at a special presentation at the school on Thursday, March 12.
Hill, a talented educator, has an unwavering commitment to the teaching profession, her students, the school, and the community.
Her students say Mrs. Hill always remains calm and knows exactly how to teach each student so they will learn.
Hill owns and operates a local cheerleading gym, working with children from walking to seniors in high school. The gym features a team for students with special needs, ensuring all students feel included and welcome.
As part of this recognition, Mrs. Hill received a monetary gift from SIHO Insurance Services and an inscribed clock from the IU Columbus Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL). Her name will be added to a permanent plaque in the Columbus Learning Center, which lists all previous Folger Award winners.
She will also be recognized at the Columbus Area Chamber of Commerce Annual Meeting on March 25 and at the Bartholomew Consolidated School Corporation Board Meeting on March 30.
