FRANKLIN, Ind. - The Johnson County Community Foundation (JCCF) has received a $200,000 allocation from the Johnson County Commissioners using remaining American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds to strengthen early childhood education and literacy throughout Johnson County.
The Commissioners designated the funding to support initiatives focused on early care and education as well as literacy in young children.
In partnership with the Commissioners, JCCF directed $100,000 of the allocation to the Dolly Parton's Imagination Library of Johnson County Fund, helping ensure the program's long-term sustainability.
Dolly Parton's Imagination Library of Johnson County provides free, high-quality books each month to children from birth to age five, encouraging a love of reading and supporting kindergarten readiness. The investment will help expand access to books for local families while strengthening the program's permanent fund for future generations.
The remaining $100,000 will support additional initiatives that advance early care and education in Johnson County, furthering the Foundation's commitment to improving outcomes for children and families.
