COMMISKEY, Ind. - Following a six-month investigation, Indiana State Police (ISP) arrested a Jennings County woman on multiple felony charges related to battery on a child.
In August 2025, the Indiana Department of Child Services contacted the ISP-Versailles Post about two children who had possibly been recently battered by Meranda Swim, 29, of Commiskey.
The investigation determined that Swim had allegedly battered the two children under the age of 14. At the conclusion of the investigation, the case was presented to the Jennings County Prosecutor’s Office for review.
As a result, a warrant was issued for the suspect on four counts of Battery on a Child under 14 years of age (Level 6 Felony) and one count of Neglect of a Dependent (Level 6 Felony).
Swim was taken into custody this past weekend without incident and transported to the Jennings County Jail. She was incarcerated, pending her initial appearance in the Jennings County Circuit Court.
