COLUMBUS, Ind. – Jacob Hendricks has been announced as the Associate Director of Recreation for the Columbus Parks and Recreation Department.
Hendricks started his career with the department as a part-time employee while in college. He went on to serve six years as Recreation Manager.
In that role, he spearheaded all recreation programming for the department, including oversight and growth of the Columbus Farmer’s Market, helping to expand community engagement and enhance program quality and community benefit.
These experiences have shaped his professional path and reinforced his appreciation for the impact parks and recreation have on the community, as well as for the dedicated staff who make that work possible.
“Jacob’s passion for our parks and dedication to this community have been evident throughout his tenure with the department. The experience and perspective he brings strengthen our leadership team and support the collaborative culture we are intentionally building,” said Parks Director Nikki Murphy.
Hendricks is eager to continue serving the City of Columbus. The department will be posting his vacated position, Recreation/Columbus Gymnastics Center Manager, in the coming days.
