'Jackpots for Generations' raises $30,000 for community impact

COLUMBUS, IN — Mill Race Center and Advocates for Children have announced that the inaugural "Jackpots for Generations" fundraiser raised more than $30,000 through the support of sponsors, donors, volunteers, and approximately 120 attendees.

The event was created as a partnership between the two nonprofit organizations, bringing generations together for an evening of entertainment, community connection, and philanthropy.

Funds raised support the missions of both organizations. Mill Race Center's goal is to empower older adults to remain healthy and active, continuing to play a vital role in economic development and community life. The mission of Advocates for Children is to provide advocacy for abused and neglected children across Bartholomew, Decatur, and Jennings counties.   

"We are grateful to everyone who attended, sponsored, volunteered, and supported this event," said Therese Miller, Executive Director of Advocates for Children. "Raising $30,000 in our first year is an exciting accomplishment, and we look forward to building on this success in the years ahead."    

Due to the strong community response, Mill Race Center and Advocates for Children plan to make Jackpots for Generations an annual event. Both organizations were thankful for the many volunteers, donors, and attendees who made the event a success.
