Jack Cramer Award nominations are open

COLUMBUS, Ind. - The Columbus Parks and Recreation Department and the City of Columbus have announced that nominations are now being accepted for the 2026 Jack Cramer Ideals of Athletic Competition Award.

The award is in memory of John H. (Jack) Cramer, a former local athlete who passed away at the age of 33 in 1977.

It honors one male and one female athlete, coach, or sports organizer, ranging from senior high school age through adulthood. Nancy Conner and Brent Chitty were the 2025 award winners. 

All nominees must live or work in Bartholomew County. Information and nomination forms are available at NexusPark and online at cbusinparks.com/cramer-award.  

The deadline to submit nominations is June 19, 2026.
