INDOT plans weekend closures in June on Worthsville Road over I-65

JOHNSON COUNTY, Ind. – The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) has announced an upcoming bridge deck overlay project on Worthsville Road over I-65 in Johnson County.

On or after Friday, June 5, crews will begin conducting weekend closures of Worthsville Road over I-65 (Exit 97). Worthsville Road will be fully closed at the following times: 

  • On or after Friday, June 5, at approximately 9 p.m. through Monday, June 8, at 4 a.m.
  • On or after Friday, June 12, at around 9 p.m. through Monday, June 15, at 4 a.m.

Access to turn right on and off the I-65 ramps will be maintained during the closures. Travel on I-65 will not be impacted.   

A short-term, single-lane closure will be used on eastbound Worthsville Road over I-65 on Friday, June 5, from approximately 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., before the start of the full closure.   

During the weekend closures, motorists should use the official detour routes, which follow Exit 99 and Exit 95. ​Overall work is expected to take up to two weekends, weather permitting.  

INDOT reminds drivers to slow down, use extra caution, and avoid distractions when traveling in and near work zones. All work is weather-dependent, and schedules are subject to change.
