FRANKLIN, Ind. - Franklin Community Schools (FCS) congratulates Creekside Elementary and Union Elementary for being honored at the Indiana Department of Education’s 2026 Literacy Achievement Celebration at the Indiana Statehouse.
Creekside Elementary was recognized for achieving a 95% IREAD passing rate, while Union Elementary celebrated an incredible milestone with 100% of students passing IREAD.
Dr. Mark Heiden shared Creekside’s story of success alongside Indiana House Speaker Todd Huston and Indiana Secretary of Education Dr. Katie Jenner.
An FCS spokesperson said, "We are so proud of our teachers, staff, students, and families whose hard work and dedication continue to make Franklin Community Schools a place where students thrive."
