HOPE, Ind. - The Town of Hope hosts its annual Groundhog Day event on Monday, February 2, starting at 8 a.m., on the Hope Town Square, near the bandstand. "Hope" the groundhog makes her appearance at 8:30.
This special morning, where Bartholomew County residents learn if the groundhog sees its shadow, combines history, theater, nature, and family fun.
All are welcome to meet “Hope” from Utopia Wildlife Rehabilitators and find out if she sees her shadow and if south-central Indiana has six more weeks of winter.
The event features music, hot drinks, snacks, singing, and opportunities for live streaming and selfies with “Hope" after the reveal. The refreshments are provided by Willow LeaVes of Hope. A limited breakfast menu will be available for purchase.
Hope's Groundhog Day is held whether it is raining, snowing, sleeting, or bitterly cold.
