GREENWOOD, Ind. — The Greenwood Advisory Plan Commission voted 7–1 to issue a favorable recommendation for a zone map change that clears the way for a new residential development on the city’s south side.
The petition, filed by M/I Homes of Indiana, LP and represented by attorney Eric Prime, requested a rezoning from Agricultural (A) to Residential Medium (RM) for approximately 48 acres located on the west side of County Road 125W.
The property, currently owned by the Clark-Pleasant Community School Corporation, sits directly south of Pleasant Crossing Elementary School and east of the Swartz Crossing development.
The proposed subdivision, named Hutton Landing, will feature 102 single-family detached homes from M/I Homes’ high-end Prestige series, offering a mix of ranch and two-story floor plans.
As part of the approval, the commission finalized several key site design details. M/I Homes agreed to construct an internal trail system formatted as a continuous loop connecting to CR 125W and Pleasant Crossing Elementary School, subject to final approval by City Planning staff. Additionally, the commission adjusted street connection requirements to match the stub streets provided by the adjacent Swartz Crossing development, along with one future southern stub, and permitted a maximum of one cul-de-sac within the neighborhood.
The rezoning petition now advances to the Greenwood Common Council for final consideration and approval.
