Greenwood Fire Department responds to chemical spill at Clark-Pleasant Middle School

WHITELAND, Ind. - The Greenwood Fire Department (GFD) was dispatched to Clark-Pleasant Middle School on Friday, August 28, for a small chemical spill in the HVAC room. 

The school was evacuated as a precaution, and students were dismissed about 30 minutes early. Crews worked with the school system personnel to mitigate and clean up the spill. There was never any hazard to the community.

GFD reported no student injuries. One adult was treated at the scene.

The incident is still being investigated.
