Governor Braun, Mayor Ferdon speak at 'Advanced Machine and Vehicle Innovation Center' grand opening next week

COLUMBUS, Ind. — State and local leaders will gather in Columbus on Tuesday, July 21, to celebrate the official grand opening of the Advanced Machine and Vehicle Innovation Center (AMVIC). Indiana Governor Mike Braun and Columbus Mayor Mary Ferdon are scheduled to deliver keynote remarks highlighting the region's expanding role in advanced energy research and economic development.

AMVIC's launch follows a milestone $1.070 million funding commitment from the Columbus Redevelopment Commission and $1 million from the South Central Indiana Talent Region (SCITR) aimed at fostering advanced engineering capabilities and workforce development in Central Indiana.  

The grand opening will feature a formal ribbon-cutting ceremony followed by exclusive facility tours showcasing cutting-edge research labs and high-voltage testing equipment. Industry executives, academic partners, and economic stakeholders will be in attendance to discuss collaborative opportunities in the clean energy-to-power sector.
