FRANKLIN, Ind. - Franklin Mayor Steve Barnett presented the "Marty and Carolyn Williams Volunteer of the Year" award to Deb Stubbeman at the August Franklin City Council meeting last week.
Stubbeman, a retired teacher, helps out at the Johnson County Animal Shelter, StudyConnect, Johnson County Food Pantry, Union Christian Church, and other local events and causes.
This award was created to recognize the extensive hours that volunteers contribute to ensuring the continued success of the community. Often, these efforts are behind the scenes and go without recognition.
The Volunteer Award was named after a Franklin couple, Marty and Carolyn Williams, and honors the time, energy, and effort they gave to ensure events ran smoothly.
