COLUMBUS, Ind. -Columbus Regional Health (CRH) announced that beginning in August 2026, patients will start receiving their financial statements electronically.

This transition to a paperless billing program is designed to improve operational efficiency and patient experience, and reduce the
organization’s environmental footprint. Patients will be automatically enrolled in the paperless billing program, receiving their statements via their identified communication preference indicated in their medical record. The first two statements will be sent electronically with the final two mailed via paper statement, as needed.

Examples of this electronic correspondence could include receiving the statement via SMS, email, and/or through MyChart. In addition, according to their communication preferences, patients will notice increased text and SMS capabilities and options such as statement information and payment options. This initiative is designed to provide timely billing information, allowing patients quicker access to their statements, the ability to ask questions, and simplified payment options. MyChart patients already enrolled in paperless billing do not need to take any action.

Although the paperless billing system is designed to benefit patients, CRH understands that some may prefer to receive their statements via traditional mail. Patients who wish to opt out of the paperless billing program can easily do so by updating their Billing Preferences in MyChart, requesting a change for Communication Preferences during check-in, or contacting Customer Service at 812-376-5315.
