Traffic pattern after All-American Festival/QMIX Fireworks-Courtesy of CPD
COLUMBUS, Ind. - Columbus Police Department (CPD) Public Information Officer Lt. Skylar Berry says the agency has prepared for the "All-American Festival on Central" celebration on Friday, July 3. Special traffic patterns will be in effect, and motorists should be aware of them.
Police officers, firefighters, and EMS will be working throughout the event. CPD will have extra resources available to direct traffic after the event.
From noon to 10 p.m. on Friday, Central Avenue will be closed from Chapa Street to Cunningham Drive for the event. Poshard Drive, west of Wade and Vikers Drives, will also be closed.
Central Avenue will then reopen for the traffic leaving after QMIX Musical Fireworks, with all four lanes flowing south between Chapa Street and National Road (U.S. 31). Northbound traffic on Central Avenue, between U.S. 31 and Chapa Street, will not be permitted after the fireworks.
Lt. Berry said, "We'll have about 15 officers directing traffic, trying to get everyone home as quickly and safely as we can"
