COLUMBUS, Ind. - Columbus Parks and Recreation welcomes athletes, coaches, and the public to the Circle K Fieldhouse at NexusPark for the "War of the Roses" Midwest Nationals Wrestling Tournament this weekend.
With over 90 teams expected on Saturday and Sunday, October 3 and 4, the event kicks off the fall/winter sports season. It showcases Columbus’s hospitality, coordination, and community pride.
The 2025 event brought 55 teams, 2,130 wrestlers, and 4,000 spectators to Columbus and generated over $1 million in economic impact during the two-day tournament.
The War of the Roses was founded in 2009 to give girls meaningful opportunities to wrestle when many had none. This year, the tournament will feature two divisions for the first time: grades K-8 and grades 9-12, each with 14 weight classes.
