CGCSC names Building 'Teachers of Year': 'Support Staff of Year'

GREENWOOD, Ind. - Center Grove Community School Corporation (CGCSC) has announced the "Teachers of the Year" and the "Support Staff of the Year" for the 2025-26 school year.

Each teacher is recognized for making an extraordinary impact on students and colleagues in his/her building and selected by the teachers in their building. The overall district Teacher of the Year will be chosen by an outside university committee and announced on May 11.

Here are the 2025-2026 Building Teachers of the Year:    

  • Center Grove High School - Michelle Carter, Science Teacher
  • Middle School Central - Jody Gilardi, Special Education Teacher
  • Middle School North - Anthony Bell, Instructional Coach
  • Center Grove Elementary - Christina Negri, Kindergarten Teacher
  • Maple Grove Elementary - Laura DeBaun-Haag, 5th Grade Teacher
  • North Grove Elementary - Luann Luck, 3rd Grade High Ability Teacher
  • Pleasant Grove Elementary - Kelli Smith, 1st Grade Teacher
  • Sugar Grove Elementary - Anne Winiger, Kindergarten Teacher
  • Walnut Grove Elementary - Megan Huber, 1st Grade Teacher
  • The Academy - Molly Creek, Special Education Preschool Teacher

Their colleagues chose the Support Staff of the Year members for the exceptional contributions they make in their buildings:

  • Middle School Central - Cristy Owens, Paraprofessional - Media Assistant
  • Middle School North - Deb Camargo, Behavior Coach

  • Maple Grove Elementary - Will Booker, RTI Interventionist
  • North Grove Elementary - Jackie Kelly, RTI Interventionist
  • Pleasant Grove Elementary - Laura Waskom, Classroom Assistant
  • Sugar Grove Elementary - Anne Marie Marx, RTI Interventionist

The CGCSC Teachers and Support Staff will be honored at the Center Grove Employee Celebration Night in the Center Grove High School Auditorium on Monday, May 11.
