GREENWOOD, Ind. — The Johnson County Republican Party will hold a special caucus to select a replacement for Greenwood Common Council District 3 Representative Michael Williams.
Having served since 2019, Williams is vacating his council seat because he is relocating outside of his district boundaries.
The effort includes appointing a new qualified representative to finish the remainder of the term, ensuring uninterrupted representation for District 3 while maintaining steady guidance for the city’s ongoing growth and municipal projects.
The Johnson County Republican Party is collaborating with local precinct committeemen to conduct an open, vote-backed selection process to choose the next council member.
District 3 precinct committee members and residents are invited to participate in the upcoming selection process:

District 3 Caucus: Wednesday, Sept. 17, at 7:00 p.m. at Greenwood City Hall (Common Council Chambers).

Candidate Filing Deadline: Eligible candidates must submit their formal notice of candidacy to the Johnson County Republican Party Chair at least 72 hours before the event.
