COLUMBUS, Ind. - Do you have a storm shelter at your home or business? Bartholomew County Emergency Management (BCEM) is enhancing its support for emergency responders during severe weather by collecting voluntary storm shelter-location information throughout the county.

Please note that these are not public shelter locations and will not be shared with the public. This information is for emergency response purposes only.

If you would like to notify BCEM of your storm shelter location, call 812-379-1680.

When you call, be prepared to provide your:    

  • Name
  • Address
  • Emergency phone number
  • Shelter location on the property, and whether it is above or below ground

Your participation helps BCEM better protect the community when severe weather strikes.
