COLUMBUS, Ind. - Due to the frigid weather, Bartholomew County Emergency Management (BCEM) has announced that several Warming Centers will be open starting Saturday, January 24, and continuing through January 30.
If you frequent one of the facilities, you are reminded to follow the rules of each Warming Center and all of the people there. You are also reminded that food, showers, and areas of sleep are not offered.
Below are the Bartholomew County Warming Centers available:
- Community Engagement Center, 1075 2nd St., Columbus - Sat/Sun 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Mon-Fri 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Brighter Days, 421 S. Mapleton St., in Columbus - Sat/Sun 4 p.m. to 8 a.m.; Mon-Fri 6 p.m. to 8 a.m.
- Bartholomew Co. Main Library, 536 5th St., Columbus - Mon-Thu 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Fri/Sat 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Bartholomew Co. Library Hope Branch, 635 Harrison St. - Sat 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Thu/Fri 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Extremely cold temperatures can pose a threat to health and safety. BCEM reminds you that the Warming Centers are there for those who need them.
