INDIANAPOLIS – Bartholomew County Assessor Ginny Whipple was elected District President of the Association of Indiana Counties’ (AIC) Southeast District during the annual meeting in Switzerland County.
As District President, Whipple represents the elected county officials in the Southeast District of the state, which includes Bartholomew, Brown, Clark, Dearborn, Decatur, Floyd, Harrison, Jackson, Jefferson, Jennings, Ohio, Ripley, Scott, Switzerland, and Washington Counties.
By serving on the AIC’s Board of Directors, Whipple helps determine policies and legislative goals for the Association.
Floyd County Treasurer, Steve Burks, was elected District Vice President during the meeting. The meeting also included a synopsis of the 2026 Indiana Legislative Session by AIC legislative staff.
The Association of Indiana Counties, Inc. is a nonprofit organization established in 1957 for the betterment of county government. The various functions of the AIC include lobbying the Indiana General Assembly on behalf of counties, serving as liaison among counties, state, and federal agencies, and providing technical assistance and training to county officials and employees.
