GREENWOOD, Ind. - Center Grove High School has announced that four seniors, Mohammed Khan, Ivy McClimon, Andra Veleta, and Kelli Wang, have been named Finalists in the 2026 National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC) Program.
To become a National Merit Finalist, the approximately 15,000 Semifinalists and their high schools had to submit a detailed scholarship application, including information about the student's academic record, participation in school and community activities, demonstrated leadership abilities, employment, and honors and awards received.
Each Finalist will receive a Certificate of Merit and have the opportunity to continue in the competition for more than $30 million in National Merit Scholarships.The nationwide pool of Finalists represents fewer than 1% of U.S. high school seniors.
There are three types of Merit Scholarships offered:
- 2,500 National Merit $2500 Scholarships
- 1,000 corporate-sponsored Merit Scholarship awards
- 4,100 college-sponsored Merit Scholarship awards.
NMSC will notify Finalists of their selection to receive a Merit Scholarship award.
