COLUMBUS, Ind. – Columbus Mayor Jim Lienhoop released another video update on Thursday, outlining the current COVID-19 Community Task Force situation. During the message, he stressed caution and patience.
He reminded residents that we are in Phase 2 of a five-phase plan outlined by Gov. Holcomb. Phase 3 begins on May 24, but only “if we are ready.” That decision will be made on May 20. The mayor stressed that if you have risk factors, continue to stay at home. If you must go out, use hand sanitizer, gloves, and wear a mask.
Lienhoop also said that Columbus INVigorate has received applications for loans from 50 qualifying small businesses and decisions are forthcoming on which will receive funds. He also stated that HUD funding for rental assistance is available for those who need help with rent payments.
