FRANKLIN, Ind. – The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office said Wednesday that four Johnson County Jail inmates have contracted COVID-19 and are now in quarantine. They are the first confirmed cases of the disease at the jail.
Before the four detainees tested positive, the jail was implementing safety measures for inmates and staff. Testing and safety protocols for other inmates will remain in effect and be updated as the situation develops.
Officials say they have been in compliance with all guidance from the CDC and requirements from the state. All incarcerated individuals reportedly wear surgical masks.
