NORTH VERNON, Ind. – While searching for Michael Thompson, a wanted Jackson County man on Tuesday morning, Jackson County Sheriff’s Office deputies determined he was in an area that holds a history of involvement with illegal drugs in Jennings County.
After arriving at the address, law enforcement made contact with several individuals, including a man identified as Russell Cathey. Surveillance units also reportedly advised officers that there was a car in the back of the residence and that some people were trying to escape in it.
Deputies were able to stop the vehicle and they say they found Michael Thompson inside. He was taken into custody. They also arrested Cathey, who was allegedly found to be in possession of methamphetamine.
Cathey and Thompson were both taken to the Jennings County Jail, and the Jennings County Sheriff says more arrests are anticipated as the inquiry continues.
