SOUTH-CENTRAL, Ind. – River Valley Legal Aid and Pro Bono Indiana have scheduled a Free Legal Phone Clinic for residents of their eight-county district on Tuesday, September 9. The district includes Bartholomew, Johnson, Jackson, Jennings, Brown, Decatur, Rush, and Shelby Counties.
The free phone clinic for low-income residents is from 3 to 5:30 p.m., but registration is required from noon to 2 p.m.
The Pro Bono Indiana program utilizes local volunteer attorneys who offer free legal consultations to low-income individuals, providing legal advice in furtherance of equal access to justice within Hoosier communities. Those who register can expect to receive a brief phone consultation on general civil matters and limited pro se assistance or advice.
Register by calling 812-378-0358 on Tuesday, September 9, between noon and 2 p.m. A River Valley Legal Aid volunteer attorney will return calls between 3 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. Residents must be available between 3 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. to answer the attorney’s call.
