FRANKLIN, Ind. – This year’s Johnson County Fair ends Saturday and the Johnson County Community Foundation (JCCF) says it is proud to have played a role in funding many different 4-H necessities. The Johnson County 4-H Star Fund and the Johnson County Fair Board Scholarship are two gifts that have impacted the kids.
Kim Roberts has served 4-H for over 31 years and spoke about the 4-H Star Fund and said, “We use these funds to encourage our kids to grow in their character and skills. Due to the hard work of Amy Kelsay, the Star Fund recently bought our sowing club the equipment needed to continue working.”
The Johnson County Fair Board Scholarship was established to award students displaying exemplary character and integrity. Applicants must be a 10-year 4-H participant who plans to enroll full-time at an accredited public or private college, or vocational school. The students must submit an essay explaining what character and integrity mean to them. The winner is awarded a $1,000 scholarship. JCCF has announced that this year’s recipient is Addie Morris who will attend IU in Bloomington this fall.
