GREENWOOD, Ind. – With winter looming, the Greenwood Community Center is adding several new features in preparation for people making their way inside to avoid the cold.
Next month, Greenwood says that it will install nearly $80,000 in new fixed-resistance exercise machines for the gym, including more than 20 machines to go with their existing cardio and free-weight equipment. The center will also include separate areas for adult fitness classes, and activity rooms that can be rented for events. Also, “Kid City,” which is a two-story, STEAM-focused play and activity zone for children will be added.
“To be a successful city, a city appealing to both current and potential new residents and businesses, Greenwood must offer desirable amenities and high quality of life,” said Greenwood Mayor Mark Myers.
According to the city, the Community Center hosted a record 122,000 visitors in 2018, and they hope to see that number climb once again before 2019 concludes.
