COLUMBUS, Ind. – Landmark Columbus Foundation invites you or your company to become a part of the historic publication American Modern: Architecture, Community, Columbus, Indiana, forthcoming from The Monacelli Press this July. Limited-edition silkscreen posters of three pictures from the book are for sale.
This is the first in-depth history of the internationally celebrated small city of Columbus, demonstrating the unique convergence of civic, industrial, and social forces that produced the pre-eminent laboratory of architectural modernism in the USA.
Columbus native Mark Shaw, who is a writer, editor, and instructor, wrote the book. A former executive editor of The Architect’s Newspaper, his writing has appeared in the New York Times and Architectural Review.
American Modern includes comprehensive, newly commissioned photographs by Iwan Baan, a photographer whose work focuses on the intersection of architecture and the social fabric and has been published in books and periodicals internationally.
The book is designed by Studio Lin, as are the silkscreen posters that are available with a contribution. There are two levels at which you can contribute, $1000 for one poster and $2500 for all three silkscreens.
Learn more about the book and being an American Modern contributor here, or stop by the Columbus Area Visitors Center, where you can see an exhibition of Baan’s photos and all three of the limited-edition silkscreen posters by Studio Lin.
