FRANKLIN, Ind. – A Ripley County man was sentenced Tuesday by Johnson County Judge Andy Roesener to a decade at the Indiana Department of Correction following his conviction for child solicitation, a Level 4 felony, and the repeat sex offender enhancement.
In December 2022, Ordis Perry, a convicted child molester, solicited sex from who he thought was a 14-year-old girl using an internet app. Unbeknownst to Perry, he was actually messaging an undercover detective with the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office.
Perry traveled to Johnson County in an attempt to meet up with the fictional child but was instead greeted by police and taken into custody.
This case exemplifies the Johnson County law enforcement community’s aggressive stance on internet-based child predators. “Pedophiles be warned,” said Johnson County Prosecuting Attorney Lance Hamner. “If you’re thinking about using the internet to prey on children in this community, we will find you and put you in a cage. We will not tolerate this kind of reprehensible behavior.”
