SEYMOUR, Ind. – An interdiction officer with the Seymour Police Department (SPD) stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation in the area of Sprenger Road and Marley Lane in Seymour on Monday.
When law enforcement approached the car, the officer noticed the odor of burning marijuana coming from inside, according to police. During the conversation with the driver, it was determined that the woman was not able to prove financial responsibility for the vehicle she was operating.
She was searched as an incident to arrest and SPD allegedly located a small plastic bag that contained a white substance on the driver’s person. It was field-tested and a presumptive positive result for methamphetamine was registered. A subsequent search of the car supposedly yielded a plastic bag with a plant-like substance and other drug-related items.
The suspect was identified as Mary K. Templin, 60, of Indianapolis. She was arrested for possession of meth, possession of marijuana, possession of paraphernalia, and failure to prove financial responsibility. Templin was taken to the Jackson County Jail.
