COLUMBUS, Ind. — Michael Parsons has been named principal at Columbus East High School effective July 1. Parsons, who currently is the principal at Clifty Creek Elementary School, was officially tabbed for the position at the Bartholomew Consolidated School Corporation (BCSC) school board meeting Monday night.
“I’m committed to relentlessly serving Columbus East and making the absolute best version of itself in academics, school activity, and school life,” Parsons said to the board. “I’m thankful that tonight you made me an Olympian.”
Parsons is in his fourth year as principal at Clifty Creek. He previously served as assistant principal/athletic director at Riverview Middle School, assistant principal at South Bend Career Academy, and as a teacher for the Huntington County Community School Corporation.
He will succeed Mark Newell, who recently became director of McDowell Adult Education and Alternative Education Center.
