VERNON, Ind. – The Jennings County Running Club is teaming up with the Historical Society and Friends of Historic Vernon to once again offer the Spring Tonic 5K on April 22. The 5k run/walk is on the first day of the annual, weekend-long Sassafras Tea Festival, in Vernon.
To grow Orlo Blomquist’s mission to promote health, this year there will be both a 5K and a new Tea Time 1-Miler.
The 5K will start and end at the Vernon Gym and include a scenic run through the Town of Vernon and the countryside along the Muscatatuck River. The 1-Miler will take participants through the Vernon Cemetery.
Both events start at 8 a.m. The 5K is $25 per person to enter and the 1-Miler donation is $20.
The proceeds will go towards improvements at the Vernon Gym and the Jennings County Historical Society. Registration ends on April 20. To sign up, click here.
