NORTH VERNON, Ind. – Two Jennings County teachers were recently named “Teacher of the Year” of their respective schools, Jill Stoner of Jennings County Middle School, and Tevin Shoultz of Jennings County High School.
Each year, the Indiana Department of Education (IDOE) conducts the Indiana Teacher of the Year program to recognize outstanding classroom teachers from across the state. From this group, one person is selected to represent Indiana educators at the national level.
Jill Stoner has been teaching for 23 years. She currently teaches German I and seventh-grade Language Arts. Stoner said, “I am very grateful to receive this award and represent my school, staff, and administration.”
Tevin Shoultz is an instructor of Family and Consumer Sciences at Jennings County High School (JCHS) and has taught since 2016. The North Vernon native said, “I feel very humbled to have received this award. I could not do this without the support of my JCHS colleagues, students, family, and friends.”
