COLUMBUS, Ind. – A local man was apprehended Saturday night after supposedly firing his gun several times in a local bar parking lot. He then fled on foot.
Chase McNealy, 27, was arrested and charged with criminal recklessness with a firearm, resisting law enforcement with a deadly weapon, intimidation with a firearm, public intoxication, and disorderly conduct.
At 11:10 p.m., the Columbus Police Department (CPD) responded to the Cozy Lounge, at 3870 25th St., in regards to a disturbance. Police say McNealy was kicked out of the bar before allegedly firing off the shots. Ammunition casings were recovered by officers in the parking lot.
CPD located the suspect a short time later on 25th Street as he was running and holding a handgun. A foot pursuit ensued and McNealy was captured in the backyard of a residence near 22nd Street and Beam Road. He was taken into custody and the weapon was recovered.
