COLUMBUS, Ind. – The long-awaited Mill Race Marathon is this weekend in Columbus, and with the race comes road closures in certain areas of the city which will start as early as Thursday, and will carry through race day on Saturday.
On Thursday, there will be no parking on Fifth Street, from Jackson to Franklin Streets, from 6 a.m. until noon. Also, eastbound Seventh Street will be blocked, east of the 6th Street Garage, from 9 to 11 a.m.
Friday means no parking on Washington Street, from Fifth to Seventh Street beginning at 6 a.m.; no parking on Washington Street from Third to Fifth Street starting at 4 p.m.; Sixth Street will close at 8 a.m. from Washington Street to the alley west of Franklin Street; and Sixth Street will also close at 10 a.m. from Washington Street to the Sixth Street Parking Garage. Friday closures also include Jackson to Franklin Street starting at noon.
Finally, on Saturday, Fifth Street will close at 5 a.m. from Jackson to the alley east of Washington Street; the closure narrows at 9 a.m. to the alleys on the east and west sides of Washington Street; and Seventh Street will close at 7:15 a.m. from alleys on the east and west sides on Washington Street.
