SEYMOUR, Ind. – After collecting reliable information, Seymour Police Department and Jackson County Sheriff Office narcotics investigators initiated a stop on a car on West Tipton St., in Seymour, last Friday at 3:45 p.m. They identified Juanita White, 35 of Scipio, as a passenger, and Steven Robbins, 57, of Scipio, as the driver.
Investigators knew that White had several outstanding arrest warrants and immediately took her into custody. When officers tried to remove Robbins from the vehicle, he supposedly forcibly resisted. During the struggle, an officer deployed a Taser to temporarily incapacitate the suspect so he could be safely arrested.
Inside the vehicle, police allegedly found over 35 grams of methamphetamine, about three grams of fentanyl, syringes, and other drug-related items.
Both Robbins and White were arrested for dealing in meth, possession of meth, possession of a controlled substance (fentanyl), possession of a syringe, and possession of paraphernalia. Plus, a charge of resisting law enforcement was added to the list for Robbins.
The pair was transported to the Jackson County Jail. The investigation is ongoing.
