SEYMOUR, Ind. – The Seymour Police Department (SPD) responded to the 1300 block of W. Second St. in Seymour, on Saturday just before 7:30 p.m., regarding a gunshot to the windshield of a vehicle.
Officers spoke with the vehicle’s owner who believed the incident had occurred around 4 a.m., as there had been a lot of noise and car alarms going off at that time.
During the investigation, SPD interviewed Tyson Marshall, 34, of Seymour, and a Taurus .380 caliber handgun was allegedly found and then seized. A search warrant was obtained for the suspect’s apartment. During the search, detectives supposedly located additional weapons, ammunition, and marijuana.
Marshall was arrested, jailed, and booked for possession of a handgun without a permit while having a previous felony conviction, possession of marijuana, and an outstanding Shelby County warrant.
Police later learned that the handgun the suspect had in his possession may have been stolen out of Bartholomew County. The investigation is continuing.
