NORTH VERNON, Ind. – The Jennings County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) responded to an address in Country Squire Lakes on Friday concerning an injured elderly woman.
During the investigation, deputies say they determined that the female had been physically abused. JCSO authorities say that Milton “Charles” Hauk, 69, of North Vernon, was the caregiver and had allegedly neglected his duties and caused injuries to the female.
The woman was transported to an area hospital and the suspect was arrested taken to Jennings County Jail.
Hauk was charged with neglect of a dependent causing serious bodily injury and domestic battery.
