COLUMBUS, Ind. – The Columbus Police Department (CPD) arrested a Michigan woman on several charges after she supposedly assaulted a CPD officer during a traffic stop early Friday. Police pulled over a suspected drunk driver at Third and California Streets at about 12:20 a.m.
While questioning the occupants, CPD says a passenger in the car, later identified as Jenna McClellan, 28, of Roseville, Michigan, reportedly began causing a disturbance.
During the encounter, the suspect dialed 911 claiming she was being harassed, yelled obscenities at police, and allegedly struck an officer in the chest with her hand after attempting to slap his face.
She was taken into custody and then reportedly tried to bribe an officer with money to release her.
McClellan is facing preliminary charges of battery on a law enforcement officer, bribery, misuse of 911, disorderly conduct, resisting law enforcement, and public intoxication.
