NORTH VERNON, Ind. – On Wednesday, September 11, Officers from the North Vernon Police Department responded to an apartment in the 600 block of Pierce Street in North Vernon in reference to an overdose. When officers arrived, the found William Barlow dragging an unresponsive Dugan Carter from the apartment. Officers were able to use Narcan on Carter to revive him, he was checked by paramedics and refused to go to the hospital.
During the investigation however, officers say that they saw illegal drugs within the apartment. After obtaining a search warrant for the apartment, police officers allegedly found Clonazepam pills, Suboxon pills, meth, fentanyl, and Psilocybin Mushrooms. Anabolic steroids and hypodermic needles were also located along with a 9mm handgun, scales, drug paraphernalia, and a small amount of cash.
Both Barlow and Carter were arrested on multiple preliminary charges related to illegal drugs.
