NEW WHITELAND, Ind. – Johnson County Senior Services (JCSS) officially moved into its new building, 36 W. Tracy Rd., in New Whiteland, on Thursday, and celebrated with an open house and ribbon-cutting ceremony.
The fund-raising effort for the new facility began five years ago and it all came to fruition Thursday morning as Johnson County Senior Services and guests partied and thanked the community for the new building.
JCSS is a not-for-profit that relies on donations from the community to provide vital services to thousands of isolated and food insecure seniors suffering in silence. It also provides free transportation, for Johnson County residents ages 60 and over, to vital medical treatments and appointments and is the only no-cost, door-to-door, wheelchair-accessible transportation service in the county.
