COLUMBUS, Ind. – Most city buildings in Columbus will reopen to the public today, Monday, May 3. However, mask-wearing and social distancing within city facilities are still mandated to protect the public and employees.
City officials made the original announcement last week after evaluating the community COVID-19 data. Buildings first closed last spring during the early stages of the pandemic, and have mostly remained closed until today.
At this time, meetings continue to be virtual through May, and they will be live-streamed and available at WebEx.
City Hall, Donner Center, City Utilities, Hamilton Center, the Gymnastics Center at FFY, the DPW Building, and Aviation offices are now all open. Access to Animal Care remains by appointment only, and all of the fire stations in Columbus will continue to be closed to the public.
