COLUMBUS, Ind. – Bartholomew County Emergency Management (BCEM) reports the weather will be changing as the week progresses.
Warmer weather is expected Tuesday night into Wednesday, accompanied by high winds and temperatures in the 40s. Rain is forecast for that period, and then snow showers could develop on Wednesday afternoon through Friday.
An arctic air mass is predicted to move in for the weekend. High temperatures this weekend are expected to be in the teens, with lows in the single digits. Wind Chills could be below zero.
BCEM gives this advice as temperatures fall:
- Be weather aware, have multiple ways to receive weather alerts
- Dress in layers
- Limit your time outside
- Winterize your vehicle and keep an emergency kit inside
- Bring pets indoors if possible
- Ensure animals have access to water and shelter
- Allow extra time to travel
- Check road conditions
