NORTH VERNON, Ind. – The Jennings County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) arrested 5 adults and 4 teenagers during an active burglary in Country Squire Lakes on Tuesday night, October 14.
At approximately 12:54 a.m., Jennings County Deputies were dispatched to an active Burglary in Progress at a residence in Country Squire Lakes. The 911 caller informed Jennings County Dispatch that someone had broken and pushed in an exterior window of a bedroom in the residence before the suspects had left in a vehicle. A vehicle was located traveling on County Road 300 North that matched the description of the suspect vehicle, which was stolen from Jackson County. Jennings County Deputies, alongside the North Vernon Police Department, conducted a high-risk traffic stop on North State Street near Taco Bell. 5 adults and 4 teenage juveniles were removed from the vehicle and detained.
The teenage juveniles were transported to the Jennings County Sheriff’s Office to await legal guardians. All adults were immediately interviewed on scene and were remanded to jail staff on each of their own respective preliminary charges.

Possession of a Legend Drug- Level 6 Felony
