SEYMOUR, Ind. — The Seymour Police Department (SPD) arrested a local felon for allegedly brandishing a firearm during an argument in a home with children present on Wednesday, October 8.
Investigators with the Seymour Police Department received information that an individual who had been convicted of a serious violent felony owned a firearm and had displayed the firearm during a recent argument with children present in the home. During the investigation, a firearm was located that should not have been at the residence on the west side of Seymour. Investigators arrested 23-year-old Shannon Lee Barger for being a serious violent felon in possession of a firearm, which is a level 4 felony.
Barger was taken to the Jackson County Jail. Barger had a previous conviction for criminal confinement, a level 3 felony from an arrest in 2020.
